Ring in the New Year doing something fun! Or staying inside because it's cooold. Maybe both? If you are up for being out & about, check out:

The good ol' Idaho Potato Drop. What a sight. Lots of local entertainment, food trucks, vendors, a snow park, and a giant glowing potato. It will also be streamed on KTVB/Channel 7.

​Mother Earth Tap House, which just opened in downtown Boise, is having a full-day NYE party with food trucks and live music. It's dog and kid friendly and you can bring your own food.

​Spacebar has DJs starting at 8pm. The $10 cover gets you free play on all games and a wristband for re-entry.

​The Balcony is having a Studio 54 New Years Eve Party. DJS, party favors and champagne jello shots. Tix are $15 and theme is gold!

​Barbarian Brewing downtown is having a New Year's Eve Comfy PJ Party. Brilliant. No cover and 21+.

The 6th & Main area downtown is doing a New Year’s Eve Club Crawl with Amsterdam Lounge, StrangeLove, Karma, and Dirty Little Roddy's. Tix are $22 and includes entry, champagne toast, party favors & more.

​Edge Brew Pub on 10th is having a New Years Eve Cocktail Party. Drink specials, $5 apps, and a free glass of champagne!

​Western Proper is having a NYE party with BOGO classic cocktails from 3-6pm then a DJ from 11pm-2am.

​Lost Grove Brewing is hosting a dance party + comedy show.

​Somewhere Bar has a DJ, drink specials, and no cover all night.

​The Riverside Hotel is having two NYE shows with Shaun B & Jukebox in the Sapphire Room. Tickets are $92 and include plated dinner, champagne toast and a party favor. Cunningham & Moss will also be playing live in Bar 365 from 5-7pm and 8:30-10pm.

​Ironwood Bar & Grill is having a NYE party for single people. Drink specials, apps, dancing and a lock and key activity. Oh la la.

​The Pocket, a pool hall on the Bench, is having a NYE party with jello shots, bubbly, and a tournament. $10 cover.

​Idaho Pinball Museum is having a NYE tournament where you can only play with one hand. Starts at 6:30pm.

​Lounge at The End of the Universe is hosting ReBalance & ReNew: A Black and White New Years Eve Experience. They will have two rooms each with a lineup of local DJs. Wear black or white or both. Tix are $15 today, $20 day of, $25 at the door.

​Asana Climbing Gym is having a party called Project Transcend: A NYE Experience. It's roaring 20s/circus/steampunk themed with "curated our performances and spaces to take you on a journey through the 7 different levels of consciousness." sounds trippy. It's 21+ and goes 6:30pm-2am.

​Mad Swede Brewing is having a Hop Drop New Year's Eve party with Ashley Rose Band, food, drinks & more. It's free.

​Mad Swede Downtown is doing a NYE comedy show starting at 9pm with karaoke and New Year's toasts after the show. Tix are $15.

Start the new year at a show! There's quite a few this weekend.

If you find yourself near Tamarack Resort, you can go listen to live music, stay warm by the bonfire and enjoy the Torch Light Parade and fireworks.

Boise, it's cold outside

It's gonna be like 0 degrees this weekend. Time to get together and help each other out.

​Boise Mutual Aid is working hard to help people without houses during this super cold weather. They need propane, food, bus passes, gift cards, winter clothing, survival/camping gear, hygiene and medical supplies, and misc things like dog leashes and phone chargers. Also you could hit their venmo @boisemutualaid.

  • TONIGHT: Thursday is new beer day at Barbarian Brewing! This week they are releasing Kiwi Samurai, which is a Japanese Rice Lager and does not have any kiwi in it (despite the name).
  • TONIGHT: Street Tacos La Cruz (yum) will be at Mad Swede Brewing on Cole from 4-8pm.
  • TONIGHT: It's the last night for Winter Wonder Village at Idaho State Museum. Crafts & hot chocolate!
  • TONIGHT: The Boise Institute for Buddhist Studies is having an online 30 min evening meditation.
  • Jan 3: Monday Night Football and Ribs from Rockin Q BBQ at Bear Island Brewing.
  • Jan 8: An indoor food-focused Saturday market is starting up at Powderhaus Brewing on Saturday, Jan 8. Shop goods from Potter Wines, Molly's Mills, Timber Butte Elk, Evans Farmstead Cheese, Hipwell Ranches, Steele Honey, Hudson Bakery, Chiseled Signs, and many more. 11am-3pm.

  • TONIGHT: It's Disney Night on the ice skating rink at Indian Creek Plaza.
  • TONIGHT: There's trivia at Willi B's Saloon. Starts at 7pm and you can reserve a table in advance.
  • Jan 3: Stretch n' Sip is happening at Boise Brewing. Yoga + stretching + beer for $15.
  • Jan 5: Go to Trail Talks: Llamas, Goats, and Mules, oh my! at Lost Grove Brewing and learn all about the various pack animals that are used in Idaho's backcountry. All ages welcome and online streaming available.
  • Alsoo reminder that next week is First Thursday in downtown Boise and First Friday in Garden City.
