Fri May 31-Sat June 1:Boise Greek Food Festival is happening at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church (2618 W Bannock St in Boise). There will be tons of food, dancing, church tours, music, and drinks. It's one of my favorite annual events and this year is the 42nd annual! Read my story about the Boise Greek Food Festival here.
New restaurant alert: Susina opens today on the Boise Bench! It's a new concept from Wild Plum located at 1621 N. Orchard Street in Boise. Susina is a "European American comfort kitchen" offering a four-course prix-fixe menu. Looks amazing!
New bakery alert: Pure Bliss Baking is a new bakery on the Boise Bench! Pure Bliss specializes in organic, digestible, long-fermented sourdough and omg it all looks incredible. Pizza dough, burger buns, mini focaccia, sourdough loaves and more. You can find them at 201 N Orchard Street in Boise.
Also:Tavolata's Copper River Salmon Feast is happening on June 12 at 6pm. Giving y'all the heads up so you can make reservations now! It's a salmon-centric dinner and the menu sounds delish. Smoked Salmon Bruschetta with lemon aioli and pickled red onion; Salmon Ravioli with fava bean sugo, Prosciutto di Parma, mint, and olive oil; Skin-on Copper River Salmon—Steak House Style with Castelvetrano olive salsa verde, spring allium aioli, and Washington cherry bearnaise. Yum!
Weekend festivals
Th May 30: The inauguralNamptons Beerfest is happening at Lloyd Square in Nampa from 5-10pm. There will be beer, food trucks, live music, and much more. It’s free to enter for all ages, and for 21+, $40 gets you 10 beer tokens.
Fri May 31-Sat June 1: Hells Canyon Days is happening in Cambridge, Idaho starting at 1pm. There will be live music, rodeo events, a quilt show, a market, a car show, cornhole tournaments, and SO much more.
Sat June 1: IRU Brewshed Festival is going on at Green Acres Food Truck Part from 4-9pm. Tix are $25 and bringing your own cup is recommended.
Sat June 1-Sun June 2: Outpost Days is happening at the Owyhee County Historical Museum in Murphy, Idaho. It's a western heritage festival & fundraiser for the museum.
Sun June 2: The Annual Arts and Rose Festival is going from 10am-5pm at The Rose Garden at Julia Davis Park. Here you will have a chance to support over 100 local, fine artists with a wide array of styles and mediums.
Pools are open & splash pads are on
The pools are open & the splash pads have been turned on. It's officially summer, friends. Here's the info:
Boise Pools: Boise's outdoor pools open for the swim season on Friday, May 31 at 1pm. That includes The Natatorium, Ivywild Pool, Borah Pool, and Fairmont Pool. The hours & admission prices vary for each pool. Boise City Aquatics Center is open year round because it's indoor. South Pool & Lowell Pool are still closed and reopening is up in the air. Fri May 31: Children’s Business Fair is going on at The Village at Meridian from 4-7pm. The fair supports courageous youth as they step out and offer their gifts and passion to the world.
Sat June 1:Boise Farmers Market is happening from i9am-1pm at 1500 Shoreline Drive in Boise. This one is a food-focused market. Also fyi no dogs allowed.
Sat June 1:Capital City Public Market is happening from 9:30am-1:30pm on the Grove Plaza in downtown Boise. Art, baked goods, produce, herbs and spices, clothing, jewelry, and more.
Sat June 1:Meridian Main Street Market is happening from 9am-2pm at City Hall Plaza & next to Meridian City Hall. Find fresh produce, artisan goods, crafts, and more.

Tue June 4: Meridian Night Market is going on at Frontier Park from 6-10pm next to The Roosevelt Bar. Enjoy live music, local artists & makers, food trucks, tasty drinks and much more.

DTPlays is Back!
All summer long, DTPlays brings cornhole, hula-hoops, giant Jenga, and recurring Story Time with Rediscovered Books to parks and open spaces throughout downtown Boise.

Sat June 1: The Wine Run 5k is happening at Telaya Wine Co starting at 9am. Guests can enjoy tasting flights, glasses and bottles of Idaho wine while overlooking the scenic river. With extra swag options for all wine lovers, walkers and runners, this race is a sure thing for a great time.
Sun June 2: It’s time for First Sunday Brunch & Board Games at Meriwether Cider from 10am-1pm. There will be food, games, and of course great cider.
Tue June 4: Burger Night with Sear and Savor is happening at Barbarian Brewing from 5-8pm. There will be delicious burgers & beer.

Th May 30: Garden City Public Library is hosting a Summer Reading Kick-Off Party from 4:30-6:30pm. It will be an adventurous day full of face painting, carnival games, prizes, crafts, a bounce house, outdoor learning stations, otter pops, and special guests including Boise Forest Service, PBS Kids, Girl Scouts, Boise Army Navy Store, and so much more
Fri May 31: Idaho Film Society is showing The Big Lebowski at 7pm at the Egyptian Theater. Tix are $25-60 and there will be an after party and costume contest to follow.
Fri May 31: Adjustapalooza is going on at Kleiner Park from 6-10pm & has something for everyone, including live music, a line of amazing food trucks, free chiropractic adjustments, beer garden put on by Sockeye Brewing, and bounce houses and other kids activities.
Fri May 31: Movie Night in Meridian starts this Friday at 7pm at Settlers Park. They will be screening The Little Mermaid & it is free to attend.
Fri May 31: Art for Alzheimer’s is going on at The Village at Meridian starting at 6pm. Participants will be guided through a 2-hour step-by-step painting, receive a mini flatbread and glass of wine from Bodovino, and have the opportunity to learn more about Alzheimer's. Tix are $50.
Sat June 1: There’s a Puppy Pool Party at Cactus Bar from 1-6pm. This event is free and a portion of the proceeds go to Furever Friends Rescue.
Sat June 1: Celebrate the grand opening of In The Bag Antiques on Broadway starting at 1pm.
Sat June 1: Everybody Say Love, a pride month community celebration is going on at Treefort Music Hall. This event is free & for all ages. There will be a fashion show, art exhibit and much more.

Sun June 2: Silent Disco Yoga in The Park is happening form 12-1pm at Julia Davis Park. Breathe, stretch, and flow to serene beats through wireless headphones, surrounded by nature’s beauty.
Mon June 3: Bombshell Bingo is a lively and entertaining event that combines the excitement of bingo with the glamor of drag performances. It starts at 7:30pm at The Balcony Club & it’s free.
Wed June 5: The Eagle Rodeo is having a Retro Night filled with adrenaline pumping, dirt flying rodeo action again in Eagle, Idaho. Gates open at 5 & tix are $20.
