It's a festival weekend
Sat Aug 12: The Boise Soul Food Festival is happening in Julia Davis Park from 11am-8pm.It’s a festival to enjoy amazing & delicious food and celebrate & learn about Black culture. You can read my story about the festival here (it's from last year). There’s 40+ food vendors this year serving soul food and other cuisines, live music and dancing, vendors, and lots more. It's free to attend!
Sat Aug 12: "Hops in the Hills" Eagle Foothills Brewfest is happening at Foothills Heritage Park in Avimor. Enjoy beer from local breweries, live music, food trucks & games. Wristbands are $35 for unlimited tasting. It’s family friendly and free to attend!
Sat Aug 12: The Sunnyslope Wine Festival is happening from 1-6pm at The Center (110 County Fair Ave in Caldwell). Taste wines from 15 local wineries, enjoy live music and entertainment, food trucks, vendors & more. Tix are $55 and includes all tasting and a wine glass. There’s also a DD/not drinking ticket for $20.
Sat-Sun Aug 12-13: Nampa Festival of the Arts is happening in Lakeview Park on Saturday from 9am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-3pm. There’s tons of different artists selling their work - books, pottery, jewelry, paintings, yard art and more. There’s also live music both days starting at 10am. It's free to attend & heads up no dogs allowed.

Warbird Roundup
Sat-Sun Aug 12-13: The Warbird Roundup is happening at Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa. It'sIdaho’s largest gathering of historic war planes from across the country. You can see the planes fly from 9am-2pm, see them up close and meet the pilots to learn more about the planes, their history, interesting facts and their importance to our country.
There will also be food trucks and a guest speaker. The guest speaker is Bob Cardin - he was the project manager for the recovery of the P-38 Lightning Glacier Girl that crash-landed in Greenland in July 1942 and was buried under 268 feet of ice for over 50 years!
Admission to the Warbird Roundup is $30 for adults age 15+, $28 for seniors and military and free for kids age 14 and under. Festival admission includes entry to the museum, which is super cool if you've never been!

TONIGHT: Check out The Improv Games: Week 2 at Lounge at the End of the Universe. It's a comedy duo competition inspired by The Hunger Games. Tix are $15 and the show starts at 7:30pm.

Sat Aug 12:BCT Summer Reading Series is happening at Bogus Basin at 7pm. Hear Witch, a 90min dramatic comedy by Jen Silverman. Tix are $15 or $10 for students. Bring a blanket/low back chair and a picnic!
Mon Aug 14: Campfire Stories is happening at The Modern from 7-9pm. Hear stories from tai simpson and Tomas Baiza.
Weekly comedy open mics: Mondays at Mad Swede (Cole Road), sign ups 7:30pm/start 8pm. Tuesdays at Hops & Bottles at 6:30pm. Thursdays at Mad Swede (Downtown), online sign ups, starts at 8pm. Saturday at Mad Swede (Downtown), sign ups 10:30pm, start 11pm.
Sat Aug 12: The Chocolat Bar in Eagle is throwing a Gelato Float Party. Try their new gelato paired with bubbly wine from 3100 Cellars. It's $15 for the pairing & you can drop in anytime between 3-5pm.
Wed Aug 16: It's Grilled Cheese Night at Meriwether Cider (Garden City location). Enjoy a sammy and some cider from 6-9pm.
Wild Plum has menus up for the next 3 family night dinners. Yummm.
I finally got to check out The Avery last night and it's awesome! We just got a few cocktails and played pool, but definitely will be back for dinner. My crew loved the spicy marg, kolsh beer, and the NA peach seltzer. Really cool & classy spot for downtown Boise. Go check it out!

Sat Aug 12: Join Womeness in the Wilderness for Stand Up Paddle Board & Meditation at Quinn’s Pond. A good place for outdoorsy women to connect & make friends! It starts at 10:30am & it's free!
Sat Aug 12: Payette Brewing is hosting a Pup Pawwty! If you have a dog or want a dog, head down to Payette for dog toys, vendors, treats & cold beer. Goes 2-6pm.
Sat Aug 12: Go see 32 Cells Art Show: Uplift.It's an art show at the Old Pen with new works by local artists inspired by stories from the historic Idaho State Penitentiary that focus on positive life changes, outcomes, and origins. It's $10 and recommended for ages 13+. Goes 6-10pm.
Sat Aug 12: Check out Boots, Buckles & Brews at Indian Creek Plaza. It's a kick off party for Caldwell Night Rodeo (which is next week Tue-Sun August 15-19). There will be live country music, dancing, food trucks, drinks & more. Goes 6-10pm & it's free!
Sun Aug 13:Second Sunday Slay Brunch with Served! and Waffle Love is happening at The Balcony. It's a drag brunch complete with queens, mimosas, a waffle bar, eggs, & bacon. Damn! Tix are $35-$40 depending on where you sit. 21+
Sun Aug 13:The Boise Flea is happening from 10am-4pm on the blocks around State Street & 31st. The flea is huuuge this year! Tons of vintage, thrift finds, art and more.
