Treefort time

It's Treefort week! If you are planning to check it out, here's some things:

  • Here's my guide to Treefort 2024.

  • There's some cool events happening at Morrison Center that you can buy a ticket to.
  • Looking for a specific genre? Look here.
  • Fri Mar 22: Gravyfort 2024 is popping up at 1000 W Main St starting at 7pm for late night specialty biscuits & gravy and mac & cheese.
  • Sat-Sun Mar 23-24: Petfort is happening Sat & Sun at Julia Davis Park. It's free!
  • ALSO look for our Treefort Horoscope cards around downtown Boise ;)

Easter prep

Easter is next Sunday, March 31! Looks like some egg hunts & events are getting started this weekend:

  • Sat Mar 23: Cole Community Church is doing an egg hunt for kids in 6th grade or younger. There's also a bounce house, music, prizes and more. It's free!
  • Sun Mar 24: True Hope Collister is hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza complete with an egg dash, bounce house, cake walk, train ride, food, games & more. It's free but register to help them plan.
  • Mar 25-30: Boise Art Glass is doing a five-day Easter Egg Hunt throughout downtown Boise. One egg hidden each day in the area of 13th Street to Broadway Ave and State Street to the Boise River. Clue will be posted on social media at 3:30pm each day. If you find it, post a photo with the egg and tag Boise Art Glass.
  • Tue Mar 26: The Riverside Hotel is doing Kid's Easter Crafts at Water's Edge Gallery. Crafts include egg decorating, paper mache egg painting, or painting an Easter scene on canvas. It's $15.
  • Sat Mar 30: Zoo Boise is hosting is Easter EGGstravaganza. The zoo will be full of candy stations, animal enrichment, activities, photo-ops with the Easter Bunny, and vendors. Admission for adults is $12.50, kids (3-11) are $9.50, seniors (62 & over) are $9.50, and children 2 and under are free. No advance tickets, you just buy admission at the gate.
  • Sat Mar 30: Tree City Church is doing a Easter 5K & Egg Hunt at 12:15pm. There's also food trucks, photo bus, games & more.
  • Sat Mar 30: Red Rock Christian Church is doing an egg hunt, face painting, Easter Bunny visits and more.
  • Sun Mar 31: Hillview United Methodist Church is doing a hike or bike egg hunt at Camel's Back Park at 3pm.
  • Sun Mar 31: House of Western has a brunch buffet & bottomless mimosas.
  • Sun Mar 31: Chandlers is doing a three-course prix fixe menu starting at 1pm. Live music, complimentary valet parking & kids menu available. Call 208.383.4300 for reservations.

Comedy & storytelling

  • TONIGHT: Comedy Night with Cam Berbrand starts at 7pm at The Sapphire Room in Garden City. Cam is best known for his camthecomic TikTok account, his time on America’s Got Talent, and his Dry Bar Special, Sophisticated Ignorance. Tix are $22-$26 and the show is all ages.
  • Fri Mar 22: Joe Gatto’s Night Of Comedy is coming to The Morrison Center. Show starts at 7pm and tix are $25-$50.
  • Sat Mar 23: Join Recycled Minds presents A Bread + Butter Troupe Show for a Sit Comedy live improv show at 8pm at The Creative Space in Garden City, Tix are $5-$15.
  • Sun Mar 24: Idaho Theatre for Youth presents The Legend of Finn McCoy, a retelling of an ancient Irish myth. Doors open at 1pm, the storytelling starts at 2pm and is FREE to attend.
  • Tue Mar 26: Story Story Night: STOP is happening at JUMP at 7pm. Hear true stories from Ken Bass + Maylene Cavazos + Laura Munsil. Tix are $8.50-$17.

Food finds & things to drink

  • Fri Mar 22: Potter Wines is hosting Murder at the Masquerade Ball from 7-9pm. Tix are $48 and that includes one glass of wine or beer, a personal charcuterie plate, and two full hours of fun.
  • Sat Mar 23: Drag Brunch is happening at The Reef. Tix are $15-$120 depending on seating and does not include food or drink. 21+
  • Sat Mar 23: Cactus Bar is having a Beer Pong Tournament at 12pm. $25 entry for a team of 2.
  • Sun Mar 24: Payette Brewing presents Kegs for Kause from 6-10pm. Payette Brewing will be donating half of their beer sales to a selected non-profit, and will be featuring Oinkari Basque Dancers. It’s free to attend & open to all ages.
  • Tue Mar 26: Come out for a culinary treat of gourmet buffalo wings and enjoy some delicious craft beers at Barbarian Brewing & Taproom from 5-8pm.
  • Tue Mar 26: Telaya Bites featuring Bistro Bites Catering is happening at 6:30pm. Enjoy five 2oz pours of wine paired with five bite-sized treats. Tix are $45.

Things to do

  • Fri Mar 22: Somewhere Bar is hosting Cirque De So Gay starting at 7pm. The show is 21+ and tix are $5.
  • Fri-Sat Mar 22-23: Idaho Steelheads vs. the Tulsa Oilers this weekend. The games start at 7:10pm at CenturyLink Arena & tix are $30-$130
  • Fri-Sun Mar 22-24: Boise Flower and Garden Show is happening at The Boise Center Fri Mar 22 - Sun Mar 24. Entry is $10-$20.
  • Sat Mar 23: Join Idaho Rocks & Gems for a Jasper Dig at Homedale City Park at 10am. Bring your buckets, rock hammers, and shovels and get ready to find some Jasper.
  • Sat Mar 23 & Sun Mar 24: The Treasure Valley Indoor Flea Market is happening Sat 9-5 and Sun 10-4 at Expo Idaho and admission is $3.
  • Sat Mar 23 & Sun Mar 24: Paw Patrol Live - Hero’s Unite is happening live at ExtraMile Arena at 10am & 2pm on Sat and 2pm on Sun. Tix are $25-$100.
  • Sun Mar 24: Come support your local small businesses at the Lovely Hollow Farm Spring Market from 11am-3pm. There will be over 18 artisan vendors as well as coffee and treat trucks.
  • Tue Mar 26: Looking for female friends to rock climb with? Check out Ladies Meetup at Vertical View Climbing Gym. It's 5:30-7:30pm. $10 to join.
