Hello & happy Thursday! This weekend is gonna be fun. There's a bunch of festivals happening and lots of live music and fun movies to see if you are looking for some AC activities. Listen to the podcast here.

Thursday, July 25 - Sunday, July 28

  • ​Canyon County Fair is happening out in Caldwell (111 S 22nd Ave S, Caldwell). There’s concerts (listed below), a carnival, a Latino Festival on Sunday, and lots more. Tix are $4-$6 or there’s individual tickets to the concerts.

Friday, July 26 - Sunday, July 28

  • ​208 Tattoo Festival is happening at Expo Idaho. There’s hundreds of artists from all over the nation, plus events and live entertainment. Tix are $16 for one day or $40 for a 3 day pass. You do not need an appointment to get a tattoo.
  • ​San Inazio Festival is happening on the Basque Block. There’s dancing, music, sporting events, and of course, lots of food and drinks. See the schedule here. It’s free!

Saturday, July 27

  • ​Boise Water Lantern Festival is happening at the pond in Julia Davis Park. It’s free to attend or you can buy a ticket to get a lantern. Event starts at 6:30pm, lantern launch at 9:30pm.

Saturday, July 27 - Sunday, July 28

  • ​Goddess Fest is happening at Expo Idaho. There will be music, dancing, belly dance, rituals, psychic readings, vendors, and much more. Admission is free!

Markets this weekend

Saturday, July 27

  • ​Boise Farmers Market​ is happening from 9am-1pm at 1500 Shoreline Drive in Boise. This one is a food-focused market with local farmers, ranchers, and producers, plus a few food trucks. Also fyi no dogs allowed.
  • ​​Capital City Public Market​ is happening from 9:30am-1:30pm on the Grove Plaza in downtown Boise. Art, baked goods, produce, herbs and spices, clothing, jewelry, and more.
  • ​Meridian Main Street Market​ is happening from 9am-2pm at City Hall Plaza & next to Meridian City Hall. Find fresh produce, artisan goods, crafts, and more.
  • ​Nampa Farmers Market​ is happening from 9am-1:30pm in Lloyd Square Park in Nampa. Tons of vendors to shop!
  • ​Eagle Saturday Market​ is going on from 9am-2pm at Eagle City Hall Campus. There’s food and craft vendors, and live music.

  • ​Roasted at Watson's Comedy Battle is happening at Watson’s Cafe at 8:30pm. 8 local comedians go head-to-head in an R-rated comedy battle. Tix are $15-$50.

Saturday, July 27

  • ​Bing Comedy Hour in the Backyard is happening at 8pm at 2016 Suncrest Drive Boise, ID 83705. Performers include Leslie Bing + Hailee Lenhart-Wees + Krystal Moore + Katie Bird + Marina Wool + Greg Sisco. It’s a PG-13 show, byob, and tix are free but tips/venmo appreciated.
  • Comedian Ian Stanley is doing a set at The Social on 8th (404 S 8th St, suite 120). It’s from 7-9pm, door open at 6pm. Tix are $10.

  • ​Machu Picchu Peruvian Food Truck is celebrating Peru’s Independence Day with food specials and more. It’s at Heroes Park in Meridian from 11am-6pm.

Tuesday, July 30

  • ​Pizza and Sandwich Night is happening with The Nomadic Oven at Barbarian Brewing. Menu includes Tri Tip and Italian sandwiches and an array of gourmet pizzas. Yum! Goes 5-8pm.

Get your tix

  • ​Roars and Pours is happening at Zoo Boise on next Friday, August 2. It’s an after hours, adults-only zoo experience where you can explore the zoo, drink, eat, and take a free carousel ride. Tix are $25 online, $30 at the door, or $75 for VIP. VIP get early admission in a private tent, two drink tickets, one welcome drink in a souvenir cup, and special appetizers.

  • Go see Dance Yrself Clean: An LCD Soundsystem Retrospective at Treefort Music Hall, presented by IFS. Dive into live performances, iconic music videos, in-depth interviews, and more as we celebrate the evolution of LCD Soundsystem. Tix are $12 online or $15 at the door. All ages. Doors at 7pm, starts at 8pm.

  • It’s Indiana Jones Day at The Egyptian Theatre. Dreams do come true. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is showing at 11am. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (my favorite) is showing at 2pm. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is showing at 5pm. Tix are $10 per film or you can see all three for $20.
  • ​Garden Party in White is happening at Chateau des Fleurs from 6-11pm. Dress in all white and enjoy dinner, music, dancing, and sparklers at the end of the evening. Tix are $85 per person or you can rent a private cabana for $95 per person.
  • ​Party on Main Street is happening in downtown Caldwell from 4-9pm. Chop Shop is serving delicious BBQ, Mesquite Creek Outfitters is serving beer, and live music by Harry Dial and Jordan Shaw. Seating available or bring your own chairs. There’s lawn games too!
  • ​Finding Flow: An Improvisational Workshop is happening at Surel’s Place. It’s a collaborative workshop that introduces improvisational exercises through sound and movement designed to incorporate deep listening and awareness across creative disciplines. Tix are $35. Suitable for all ages.

Tuesday, July 30

  • ​Dog-friendly trivia is happening at Clubhound. It’s going from 7-10pm and it’s free!

Wednesday, July 31

  • ​Sunset flower picking with live music happening at Lovely Hollow Farm. There’s also food trucks and drinks. Admission is free! Goes 6-9:30pm.
  • ​Bingo & Beer is happening at Hops & Bottles from 6-8pm. It’s free!
  • ​Harry Potter Trivia is happening at Warehouse Food Hall from 6-8pm. It’s free and all ages. There's also Harry Potter Trivia happening at Barbarian Brewing (Garden City) from 6-8pm. It's free and all ages.
  • Join the Social Bike Ride to Quinn’s Pond with Boise Bicycle Project. Meet at BBP at 5:30, then ride to the pond to hang for an hour or so. Bring your swimsuit, towel, snacks, and bike.
