I cannot believe it's July already! But a new month = First Thursday in downtown Boise and this month has some fun summer stuff.

  • Mijita Vintage is having its grand opening in the Alaska Center.
  • There's a PNW Showcase at Art Source Gallery.
  • Boise Fry Co is debuting a Chocolate Salt tonight :o
  • Negranti Creamery has 50% off chocolate scoops all day
  • Meriwether Cider and the STIL are doing ice cream cider floats at the Cider House downtown.
  • Edge Brewing is doing a family-style cookout on the patio.
  • Green Acres Food Truck Park has live music, food & $1 off local beers.

Twilight Criterium is this weekend

The Boise Twilight Criterium is happening this Saturday! You can read my story about this amazing annual bike race here. This year is the 35th anniversary of the event!

Events kick off on Friday, July 8 at the Twilight Trifecta Community Kickoff Celebration & Free Fry-Day. It's freeee!

Saturday is race day, with races happening all day. You can watch it from the sidelines or within the park. More info here.

Rock N' Rollerskate is back

Treasure Valley Skate is back with the Trasher Rock N' Rollerskate summer concert series. See a rock show on skates this Sunday, July 10 with NVM, VEMM, Self Doubt, and The Joyrunners.

Tix are $12 adv/$15 door & skate rental is $5. Show goes 7-11pm. All ages!

  • Fri July 8: Go see The Teacher Show: Comedy from the Classroom at Watson's Mystery Cafe. Show starts at 8pm & tix are $20.
  • Fri July 8: There's Music + Comedy feat Mantooth, The GOV, Jen Adams, Jill Not Jillian at Lounge at the End of the Universe. Starts at 10pm & its an $8 suggested donation.
  • Sat Jul 9: The Tri-Wizard Tournament Comedy Show | Recycled Minds
  • Mon July 11: The Sweet Swede Comedy Open Mic is at the Cole Road location. Sign ups at 7:30, jokes at 8pm.
  • Mon July 11: BLOOM, a reading series at the Idaho Botanical Garden, is back with storytellers Heath Druzin and Ashley Ahearn. It's 6-7:30pm and tix are $5-$10. Byo chair/blanket and picnic.

New Farmer's Market: Global Lounge is starting a new market series on Wednesday and Saturdays. The Food & Farm Market starts on Wed, July 13 5:30-8:30pm and Art Centric Sat Market starts at Sat July 9 10am-2pm. Markets will be every week at the same time through Sept, at Global Lounge Commons (3085 N Cole Road, Boise).

  • Fri July 8: Jokers BBQ is opening at Payette Brewing at noon! They will be serving Tex-Mex style smoked brisket, pulled pork, sausage & more every Fri-Sun through the summer.
  • Fri July 8: It's Christmas in July at Bear Island Brewing Co. Dig out your ugly xmas sweaters & enjoy an xmas beer & live music.

  • Fri July 8: Go watch Batman Returns (1992) at The Egyptian. It's $5 and starts at 7:30pm.
  • Sat July 9: The Boise Bubble Run is happening at Expo Idaho. Check-in is 6am and race starts at 8am. $20
  • Sat July 9: Join Yoga at the Brewery at Lost Grove Brewing. Class is 10:30am on the patio. $15 & includes a beverage. Byo yoga mat!
  • Sat July 9: Join the Summer Scavenger Hunt at the Old Idaho Penitentiary. Assemble a team & explore the Old Pen to find clues, uncover secret inmate activities, & plan a prison escape. It's all ages, tix are $0-$8, starts at 6pm. There's food trucks too!
  • Sat July 9: The Idaho State Museum has a new exhibit, The Art of Deco, showing the unique style of Art Deco that was popular in 1910-1941. For Second Family Saturday, you can create crafts inspired by the style. It's free w/ museum admission & starts at 12pm.
  • Sat July 9: Go watch 2001: Space Odyssey (1968) at The Egyptian. Tix are $5 and starts at 7:30pm.
  • Sun July 10: Nitro Circus is performing stunts at Memorial Stadium. Show starts at 7pm and tix start at $35.
