In partnership with Surel's Place
You're invited to a one-of-a-kind evening at Surel's Place! On Tuesday, June 20, Surel's Place is hosting a garden party featuring an intimate performance by Idaho singer-songwriter Eilen Jewell and — for a lucky few — a family-style dinner with Eilen in Surel's own dining room. All proceeds benefit the arts and artists working right here in Garden City. Show tickets and very limited dinner seats are still available. Get your tickets today!

The Return of the Boise Valley People is happening this weekend. It's an annual event where the original inhabitants of the valley gather at Eagle Rock (aka Castle Rock) above Quarry View Park in the East End. This is sacred land, where their ancestors gathered for healing in geothermal pools and where many were buried prior to relocation. The event is to share stories, oral history, traditional customs, and pray for their ancestors. You can read more about the history of the original Boise Valley inhabitants here, and read more about the sacred history of Table Rock and Eagle Rock here.
Fri June 9: The public celebration kicks off at 9am in Eagle Rock Park with booths, cultural demonstrations, a traditional clothing show, a BBQ, and talks by tribal leaders start at 2pm. There are more events on Saturday open to Boise Valley tribes. More info here.

Have you heard of Boise Sports Hub? From what I understand, it's a weekly recreation sports league for adults that is like part league, part pick up game. Right now they have 7v7 soccer, volleyball, flag football, and kickball. Your first 3 games are free, then you can pay on a monthly basis to join as many games as you want. It's $75 for 3 months, $90 for 6 months, or $150 for 12 months. Seems pretty cool. Sports!
Thanks for reading! Have a fun weekend!
With love from Boise,
Marissa
