    Bogus Basin Mountain Report

    Warm temperatures return to the valley this weekend πŸ₯΅ head to Bogus Basin for fresh mountain air, cooler temperatures, and a new adventure! There’s so much to do up on the mountain, from free yoga classes and music to the wildly fun mountain coaster. 😁

    Save the dates for some fan-favorite events coming to the mountain this month, including the (free!) Music on the Mountain summer concert series featuring Ashley Rose Band, Orquesta AkokΓ‘n , Moon Owl’s Mages, Kota Dosa, and more! 🎼 The summer mountain bike Community Race Series kicks off on Wednesday, July 8th 🚲

    Friday, July 3 – Sunday, July 5

    • The Boise Hawks Independence Day Weekend is happening at Memorial Stadium with games at 7:05pm. There are post-game fireworks shows on July 3 and July 5, plus a Beach Towel Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans on July 4.

    Saturday, July 4

    • The Idaho America250 4th of July Parade is happening along Capitol Blvd starting at 10am. It’s Boise’s signature Independence Day parade, featuring a Patriotic Pet Parade at 9am and live broadcast on CBS2/Fox9 and Idaho Public TV. It’s free!
    • The Idaho A250 Capitol Celebration is happening at Cecil D. Andrus Park and the Capitol steps from 11:30am–3pm. It’s a free outdoor concert and community celebration featuring Josh Ritter, the Afrosonics, Jeff Crosby, Chad Marvin and EllieMae, and the 25th Army Band. It’s free!
    • America 250 Electric Day Party is happening at Bluebird Social from 2–10pm. It’s a Fourth of July celebration on the Boise Greenbelt featuring live music to ring in America’s 250th. It’s free!
    • The City of Boise Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration is happening at Ann Morrison Park from 6–11pm. There’s a Boise Philharmonic concert at 9pm, a patriotic drone light show at 10:15pm, and a fireworks finale at 10:30pm synced to 107.1 Hank FM. It’s free!
    • The Idaho State Museum’s United We Celebrate exhibit is open from 10am–3pm and there’s free admission all day!
    • Meridian Independence Day Festival is happening at Storey Park from 4pm–10:30pm. Food trucks, live music, and a fireworks display launched from Meridian Speedway at around 10:20pm. It’s free!
    • Caldwell Independence Day Celebration is happening at Memorial Park and Brothers Athletic Park throughout the day. There’s a 9am downtown parade, a classic car show, an armed medieval combat showcase, and fireworks at dusk at Brothers Athletic Park. It’s free!
    • Kuna 4th of July America250 Celebration is happening at Bernie Fisher Park from 6–11pm. There are 17 food trucks, a DJ, a 21+ drinking area, and fireworks launching near the 2nd Street baseball fields at 10:15pm. It’s free!
    • Star Hometown Celebration is happening at Hunters Creek Park throughout the day. There’s a 10am parade on W State Street, a live concert by Kill-A-Brew starting around 7:30pm, and a fireworks show at around 10:15pm. It’s free!
    • Middleton 4th of July Celebration is happening at Middleton Place Park and along Main Street throughout the day. There’s a Show & Shine car show starting at 9am, a parade at 11am, live music, and fireworks at dusk at Foote Park. It’s free!
    • Melba Olde Tyme 4th of July is happening throughout Melba starting at 7am. There’s a fun run, parade at 10:30am, antique tractor pull, car show, and fireworks at dusk synced to 101.9FM The Bull. It’s free!
    • Mountain Home Fourth of July Festival is happening at Carl Miller Park and Desert Canyon Golf Course throughout the day. There’s a daytime festival with a car show, kids’ inflatables, and live entertainment, plus fireworks at Desert Canyon Golf Course at dusk. It’s free!

    Saturday, July 4 – Sunday, July 5

    • America 250 for $2.50 Weekend at Zoo Boise is happening at Zoo Boise from 9am–5pm both days. It’s a special discounted admission weekend commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Tix are $2.50/person.

    Wednesday, July 2 – Wednesday, July 8

    • Young Washington is playing at The Egyptian Theatre with showtimes at 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and 7:30pm (times vary by date β€” no Saturday shows). It’s the untold story of a young George Washington as a soldier navigating a global conflict, testing his honor, loyalty, and courage. Tix are $10.

    Thursday, July 2

    • Opening Reception: Live Forever and Never Die is happening at Idaho Art Gallery from 5–9pm. It’s a solo exhibition opening by Grace Page, exploring the symbolism of fruit trees as vessels of memory, inheritance, and personal history. It’s free!
    • Super Soaker Showdown is happening at Indian Creek Plaza from 11am–1pm. It’s a community water battle featuring the Caldwell Fire Department and their fire engine, with mini pools scattered throughout the plaza to keep the Super Soakers loaded. It’s free!
    • Camp Night Market on the Patio is happening at Art Haus Bar from 5–9pm. It’s an outdoor night market presented by Kin and Art Haus, featuring local vendors, a live DJ set from Daddybaby, and makers ranging from jewelry and art to coffee, plants, and tarot. It’s free!
    • AC Boise vs. One Knox SC is happening at Athletic Club Boise Stadium at 7:30pm. Tix start at $35.

    Tuesday, July 7

    • Boise Hawks vs. Missoula PaddleHeads is happening at Memorial Stadium at 7:05pm. Tix are $5.
    • Wild After 5:00 is happening at Zoo Boise from 5:30–8:30pm. It’s an afterhours evening at the zoo featuring Music and Magic, plus special activities like Butterflies in Bloom, face painting, and Conservation Cruises. Tix are regular zoo admission price; free for members.
    • Trivia! is happening at Hap Hap Lounge from 6–8pm. It’s a weekly trivia night. A fun low-key way to test your knowledge with a drink in hand. It’s free! 21+

    Wednesday, July 8

    • Trivia with Geeks Who Drink is happening at Boise Brewing from 7–9pm. It’s a weekly trivia night hosted by Geeks Who Drink, with free beer up for grabs every round. It’s free!
    • Boise Hawks vs. Missoula PaddleHeads Doubleheader is happening at Memorial Stadium with games at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. It’s a Bark in the Park and Hometown Heroes doubleheader. Two games for the price of one. Tix are $9–$17.

    • Fast by Slow Coffee is opening its doors next door to Slow by Slow Coffee Bar. It’s a quick-service coffee spot from the team behind Slow by Slow, serving the same quality beans for when you need a great cup on the go.

    • Red, White, and Blue Free Wine Tasting is happening at House of Wine from 5–8pm. It’s a First Thursday special where the team has handpicked three holiday wines for a free tasting. It’s free!

    • Wine and Bites: Indian Cuisine is happening at House of Wine from 6:30–7:30pm. It’s a guided wine and food pairing event featuring bites from Bombay Grill, exploring how wine complements the bold spices and rich sauces of Indian cuisine. Tix are $55.

    Ice cream spots to check out

    • The STIL: Small-batch, handcrafted ice cream with bold, unexpected flavors, booze-infused options, and locally sourced ingredients. They have 7 locations across the valley.
    • Goody’s Soda Fountain: A Hyde Park staple that’s been doing the soda fountain thing right for decades. Handmade chocolates, creative flavors, and a vibe that makes you want to stay way longer than planned.
    • Stella’s Ice Cream: Multiple Valley locations, generous scoops, and a menu that actually thinks about everyone at the table, including the dairy-free folks.
    • Soft Landing Soft Serve: Silky soft serve made from scratch with Idaho dairy, rotating seasonal flavors, and toppings like honeycomb candy and brΓ»lΓ©ed meringue.

    Thursday, July 2 – Wednesday, July 8

    • Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson- Apt. 2B is playing at Idaho Shakespeare Festival Amphitheater with shows at 8pm nightly (7:30pm on July 5), no shows on Sunday. It’s a modern reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes story, following quirky roommates-turned-crime-fighters navigating mysteries, mayhem, and a little pandemic fog. Tix start at $29.68.

    Friday, July 3

    • Dark Jokes for America is happening at Liquid Lounge from 8–10pm. It’s a stand-up comedy show by Krystal Moore described as a love/hate letter to America, made for people who have laughed at a funeral and would do it again. Tix are $23.18.

    Wednesday, July 8

    • Andy Haynes @ The Comedy Lounge is happening at The Comedy Lounge at 7pm. He’s a NYC stand-up who has appeared on Fallon, Conan, and HBO, with a Don’t Tell Comedy set that has over a million views. Tix are $26.50. 18+
