Clubhound grand opening

Sat July 13 - Sun July 14: Boise's coolest dog park is opening this weekend and throwing a party to celebrate. Clubhound is a new dog park that is designed for dogs and their humans. There's an indoor space with ac, a bar, and Alchemist coffee shop, fast wi-fi and a 2,200 sq ft covered patio. The 60,000 off-leash play space for dogs has tons of space to get out the zoomies, shade, and a water station. Here's the opening weekend schedule. Markets this weekend

  • Sat July 13: Boise Farmers Market is happening from 9am-12pm at 1500 Shoreline Drive in Boise. This one is a food-focused market with local farmers, ranchers, and producers, plus a few food trucks. Also fyi no dogs allowed. Note that the market is closing an hour early due to heat!
  • Sat July 13: Capital City Public Market is happening from 9:30am-1:30pm on the Grove Plaza in downtown Boise. Art, baked goods, produce, herbs and spices, clothing, jewelry, and more.
  • Sat July 13: Meridian Main Street Market is happening from 9am-2pm at City Hall Plaza & next to Meridian City Hall. Find fresh produce, artisan goods, crafts, and more.
  • Sat July 13: Nampa Farmers Market is happening from 9am-1:30pm in Lloyd Square Park in Nampa. Tons of vendors to shop!
  • Sat July 13: Eagle Saturday Market is going on from 9am-2pm at Eagle City Hall Campus. There’s food and craft vendors, and live music.
  • Sun July 14: Boise Flea is happening at BSU stadium parking lot from 10am-4pm. Lots of vintage treasures to shop. Parking is $5 and admission is free.
  • Sun July 14: 36th Street Sunday Market is happening at Sockeye Alehouse. There's a mix of things to buy like spices, artwork/crafts, fresh produce, and more. Goes 10am-2pm, and brunch is served in the Alehouse next door!
  • Tue July 16: Caldwell's Farm to Fork Farmers Market is happening at Indian Creek Plaza from 5-8pm. Find tons of local producers, plus live music, local restaurants and more.

Comedy & storytelling

  • Fri July 12: Lectures by Lushes: A Drunken Lecture Series is happening at White Dog Brewing. Hear all about Idaho Falls Nuclear Disaster, Dictator's Fashion: Who Wore it Best, The Beatles in Hamburg, Weighing Atoms, and Fart Jokes - A Literary History From the Dawn of Civilization to Now. Tix are $15-$20 and it starts at 7:30pm.
  • Fri July 12-Sat July 13: Summer Blockbuster Comedy Show and Live Filmed Recording is happening at Recycled Minds Comedy. It's at 7:30pm both nights. Tix are $15 for adults or $5 for kids.
  • Sat July 13: The Dose: A Psychedelic Comedy Show is happening at the Lounge at the End of the Universe at 7pm. Tix are $20.
  • Sun July 14: Campfire Stories is happening at The Modern Hotel & Bar. This month's storytellers are Rebecca Evans, Tessy Ward, and David Guiotto. Starts at 7pm. Also From Boise will be reading at the next one on August 11!
  • Tue July 16: Story Story Night's OUT THE BACK DOOR is happening at the Old Idaho Pen from 8-10pm. Tix are $17 online or $20 at the door.

Food finds & things to drink

  • Sat July 13: Running of the Bars is happening in downtown Boise. It's a Basque themed pub crawl where you visit different bars and do an activity like shearing sheep, roping a bull, carrying weights, trivia, etc. Tix are $45 and includes a shirt, cup, drink, and food.
  • Sat July 13: Drag Brunch is happening at Lost Grove Brewing in Hyde Park. Tix are $10 and includes brunch buffet. 21+
  • Tue July 16: Barbecue Telaya Bites with Terroir is happening at Telaya Wine Co from 7-9pm. Enjoy five 2oz wine pours paired with lil BBQ bites. Tix are $45.
  • Also Stardust has a new "After 3" menu, plus brunch and happy hour!

Things to do

  • Th July 11 - Sat July 13: Vintage Market Days is happening at Expo Idaho. Shop over 100 vendors selling vintage, antique, home decor, seasonal decor, gifts, clothing, jewelry. There's also food trucks, live music, and more. Tix are $10-$15.
  • Fri July 12: Movies at The Egyptian! Braveheart is showing at 4pm. Clerks is showing at 8:30pm. Tix are $10.
  • Fri July 12: Stage Coach Theatre is performing The Legend of Georgia McBride. The show will be July 12-13, 18-21, 25-27. Tix are $25.
  • Fri July 12: Boise Little Theater is performing James and the Giant Peach Jr. Show dates are July 12-20. Tix are $10.
  • Fri July 12 - Sat July 13: Eagle Fun Days is happening this weekend. Friday night is Family Fun Night at Eagle High School with lots of activities and fireworks. Saturday there's a fun run, market, live music, car show and more.
  • Sat July 13: Summer Scavenger Hunt is happening at the Old Idaho Pen. Test your knowledge of the Idaho State Penitentiary's 101 years of cons, cats and contraband. Admission is $12 per person, $8 for ages 6-12 or free for age 5 and under. Goes 7-10pm.
  • Sat July 13: Idaho Horror Mini-Con is happening out at Expo Idaho. There will be cosplay, meet and greet with Russell Hodgkinson from Z-Nation, and an evening neon dance. Tix are $15 online or $20 at the door. PS - 112 days until Halloween
  • Sat July 13: Movies at The Egyptian! ​The Grapes of Wrath (1940) is showing at 2pm. ​Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga at 5pm. ​Mad Max: Fury Road is at 8pm. Tix are $10.
