Under the Freeze is taking over an undisclosed location in Downtown Boise from 5-10pm with an afterparty nearby until 2am. I’ll give you a hint: it may involve an arrangement of barrels and bananas from outer space. There will be 5 B2B DJ sets (house/melodic house/progressive house/techno), a full bar including hot toddies, glühwein, hot chocolate, wells, beer, seltzers, a massive sound system, and festival atmosphere. Tix are sold in tiers up to $24 and can be purchased here. Wanna become part of this EDM community in Boise? You can also become part of their guest list. Here’s a note sent in from Tom, President & Executive Director of Under the Trees: “It's going to be a fun show, and Boise's first electronic music show in the middle of winter to my knowledge. I'm really looking forward to it. I was inspired to create this event by Igloofest, an electronic music festival circuit in Montreal, Canada. I figure that, if Montreal can do it with -20F temperatures, we'll be just fine in Boise!” There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! See y’all there 🎧🪩
If you want a new album for your playlist, ‘In A Sea of Silent Surrender’ by Dela Freed is such a GOOD LISTEN!!

P.S. I wrote my first story for From Boise on Tuesday!! There's also a list of a few local spots to grab a drink if reading about beer makes you thirsty.
I had sooo much fun getting to write this story (with help from the lovely Ari & Marissa) and am so excited to share more cool stuff like this with you all!
Every Tuesday, read a story about a person, place, piece of Boise history, or local happening. Every Thursday, get a huge list of things to do over the weekend. No news, no politics - just the fun stuff.
