Boise this morning:

More markets opening

Sat April 15: Capital City Public Market on the Grove Plaza is open for biz, baby! The market will be open every Sat from 9:30am-1:30pm with lots of local vendors and makers, there's a few food items here too.

Sat April 15: Meridian Main Street Market is opening for the season & will happen every Sat from 9am-1pm on Broadway and City Hall Plaza. Food, crafts, live music and more.

Sun Apr 16: The Boise Flea is back for the season! It's at 3017 W. State Street in Boise. Shop vintage and handmade vendors. There's lots of goodies here. It happens once a month, here's the dates: April 16, May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, Sept 10, Oct 8.

Saturdays: Boise Farmers' Market is every Sat from 9am-1pm at 1500 Shoreline Drive. They've got allll kinds of goodies from bread to broccoli and flowers to fish.

Saturdays: Nampa Farmers' Market is every Sat from 9am-1pm at Lloyd Square in downtown Nampa. Tons of vendors and live music!

Fridays starting May 5: Global Lounge Market is starting on May 5 and will continue every Friday evening from 5-9pm. It's at Global Lounge Common (3805 N Cole Road) and features a variety of artists, growers and makers with an emphasis towards New Americans and new business startups.

Saturdays starting May 6: Eagle Saturday Market plans to start up at the beginning of May and will run every Saturday from 9am-2pm in Heritage Park in downtown Eagle.

Tuesdays starting May 16: Caldwell Farm to Fork Farmers' Market plans to start up in Mid May and will run every Tuesday evening from 5-8pm at Indian Creek Plaza.

Dog partay

Sat Apr 15: Payette Brewing is throwing a Pup PAWWTY for dog lovers, dog parents, wannabe dog parents & of course, dogs! Enjoy local dog vendors, plenty of treats, new toys & cold beer. Please keep dogs leashed. It goes 2-6pm & it's free!

Summer shows

Tis the time of year when summer shows are announced. Here's a list of the bigger shows that have been announced for Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden, Ford Idaho Center, and a few other fun shows and summer music festivals. Some of these shows will definitely sell out (I think Bon Iver already did and now the resale tix are over $100 πŸ™„) so get your tix while ya can!

  • Fri Apr 14: The Riff, an improv comedy show, is happening at Mad Swede downtown. You give the topics, they give the jokes!
  • Fri Apr 14: Ruth Ozeki is doing a Readings & Conversations at The Egyptian Theatre. Tix are sold out but rush tix may be available. Check out other upcoming convos here.​
  • Sat Apr 15: Write About NOW Comedy Show is happening at Mad Swede Brew Hall downtown from 9-11pm. Tix are $20.

  • Sat Apr 15: Explore STEM with The Salvation Army Boise Corps & The Ada Community Library. Kids in pre-K through 6th grade can come explore STEM related stations, reptiles, robots, books and more! It's free but you need to register for a session, either 1-2:30pm or 2:30-4pm.
  • Sat Apr 15: Join the Earth Day Celebration at The Boise WaterShed. It's a fam-friendly event with interactive events, live music, tacos & more! Goes 10am-1pm and it's free!
  • Sat Apr 15: Ladies of the Evening drag & burlesque show is happening at VAC. Doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:30pm. Tix are $20. 21+
  • Sat Apr 15: The Northwest Submission Challenge, a submission grappling superfight series, is happening at The Egyptian Theatre. Tix are $20-$40.
  • Sat Apr 15-16: CAF Idaho Court Sports Camp is happening at College of Idaho. Two days of basketball, tennis, pickleball, and volleyball for adaptive athletes of all ages & abilities.
  • Sun Apr 16: Take a DIY Card Making Class at Potter Wines. Enjoy a glass of wine while you make two special spring greeting cards. It's $10 to join.
  • Sun Apr 16: Take a Bird Walk on the Bethine Church River Trail with the Golden Eagle Audubon Society. It's free!

  • Now - Apr 17: United Way Book Drive is taking kids' book donations until next Monday, April 17! Collect new or gently used books for local families. More info & drop off locations here.
  • Now - April 26: Go see Americans and the Holocaust, a nationally touring exhibition at Albertsons Library at BSU. The exhibition raises challenging and important questions about this critical moment in American history: What did Americans know? What more could have been done?
  • Now - May 6: The Land Art Exhibit at Idaho Botanical Garden is open! It's so cool, go see it.
  • Heads up: Bogus Basin is planning an aMAYzing 100" Party to celebrate alllll this snow! Tentative depending on weather.

Grove Street Public Space: City of Boise is looking for public feedback on designing a public space near the Basque Block in downtown Boise. Take the survey & let them know what you want to see!

Better Bus: Valley Regional Transit is working to make our buses and bus system better/cooler. Take the survey and tell them what you'd like to see for buses in the Treasure Valley!
