5 things to know

Treefort Music Fest just dropped its music schedule! Also the fest is putting single day & Main Stage only tix on sale tomorrow. 69 days until Treefort time y'all.

Tonight is Third Thursday on the Boise Bench, in the parking lot at 10 S Latah Street from 5-8pm! Go for din, stay for fun. Food trucks tonight are Potato BOI, Bubbly Bar, Just Quesadillas (guess what they serve lol), Lark & Ladder, and The Void.

Record Store Day #2 is this Saturday. They are NOT doing shopping blocks this time. Show up whenever you want, they are open 8am-8pm. Hundreds of exclusive albums & records available this day only.

Are you a Ridge to Rivers trail user? Take the survey & let them know what you think of the new directional trails.

If you float the river soon, you gotta bring your own pump. The pumps at Barber Park are NOT turned on this summer.

THIS WEEKEND: Hawt show Saturday! Allow me to introduce you to Jackie Venson (listen) who is going to shred our faces off at The Olympic on Saturday night. Lost Grove has a DJ spinning hip hop vinyl that night, too if you wanna get groovy. LED (listen) is at KIN all weekend; Bogus Basin has b2b Music on the Mountain & WOH (We Out Here) is back at the Reef on Sunday night.

NEXT WEEK: On Tuesday, Afrosonics (listen) are at Jump, Jam & Jive & WEND (listen) is doing her spooky sexy tunes at KIN. On Wednesday, Live on the Lawn series kicks off with Built to Spill; (listen), The French Tips (listen) & Blood Lemon (listen) at The Idaho Botanical Garden.

Food finds & things to drink

  • Have you heard of Chicana Foods? It's a new local salsa company & their products looks amazingggg.
  • KIN just added a lil ice cream cake to its dessert menu. Looks bomb.com.
  • Broadcast Coffee just came out with canned cold brew. Should be in the shop early August.
  • TONIGHT: Wine Safari at Zoo Boise. Sample wine from around the world while on a VIP zoo tour. Starts at 5:30pm.
  • TONIGHT: Bingo & Tony's Tamales at Loose Screw Beer Co. Bingo starts at 6:30pm & it's free.
  • TONIGHT: The Growler Guys & 10 Barrel are releasing a collab beer called Skull It. Find it at The Growlers Guys in Meridian at 6pm.
  • July 17: Boise Brewing and Reef are doing a tap takeover Rooftop Party. Beer specials, giveaways, party. Starts at 7pm.

Things to do

  • TONIGHT: Bosnian Culture & Cuisine at JUMP. Learn about Boise's Bosnian community through food, dance & history.
  • TONIGHT: The Brew Haha Comedy Open Mic at Mad Swede Brew Hall (downtown). Sign ups at 7:30pm, show starts at 8pm. It's free!
  • July 16: Take part in the ancient art of karaoke at the C-Town Karaoke Competition. Every Friday night in July from 5-6pm at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell.
  • July 16: Behind Grey Walls, a podcast that tells stories from the Old Idaho Penitentiary, is doing a live recording from 6-8pm. Tix are $6 & you can byob!
  • July 16: Goathead picking with Boise Bicycle Project. Grab your bike, gloves, a weeding tool & lots of water, meet at BBP at 6pm & go pick some of those pesky goatheads.
  • July 16: The Bown Crossing Block Party is happening 4-8pm. Dog & kid-friendly, live music, games, you know the drill.
  • July 17 : U-Pick Flower & Vendor Festival at WM Knight Farms. They are also collecting life jackets to be donated to kids in the community.
  • July 17: Kind Idaho Art Auction at Lounge at the End of the Universe. Local artists have pieces up for auction & all proceeds go toward the Idaho Medical Marijuana Act.
  • July 18: Seinfeld Trivia at Spacebar from 7-10pm. It's free!
  • All weekend: Go out to Cherry Hill Farms for the Idaho Cherry Harvest Tour and U-Pick. Take a wagon ride & pick cherries!
