Boise Pride, Art in the Park, spooky short film fest & lots to do

It's Boise Pride, babes!

After rescheduling twice, it's finally time for Boise Pride Festival! The festivities start Friday, Sept 10 and go through Sunday, Sept 12.

Boise Pride has been around since 1989 & exists to promote unity & celebrate the diversity of sexual orientations & gender identities in Boise. It's a beautiful celebration & a damn good time.

Like most events these days, Pride is requiring proof of negative test or vaccination to enter. They are using an app called MyBindle (so is Treefort) to make screening quicker. More info on that here.

The schedule for Pride is packed and looks so fun. There's dance events, circus acts, a parade, live music, drag performances & soo much more. Check out the full schedule here.

Aaand Art in the Park!

Art in the Park is back this weekend, too! It's happening Friday, Sept 10 through Sunday, Sept 12 at Julia David Park. Admission is free.

If you've never been, Art in the Park is put on by Boise Art Museum and is essentially a huge outdoor art/craft festival. It's a really good reason to go xmas shopping early, just sayin.

There's more than 200 vendors, plus a variety of performances, food vendors, and kids activities. It's super fun to just walk through but also, how do you make it out of there without buying something? I bought one of my best hats there a few years ago!

Tunes & shows

We've got lots of good tunes this month, people. In addition the the five days of Treefort Music Fest (Sept 22-26), there's music happening all over, almost every night of the week! But before you dive into the cal:

Very exciting news from the Record Exchange this week. After 44 years, founders & owners Michael Bunnell & Jil Sevy have sold the business to four longtime employees & wonderful humans. Big congrats to the RX & so happy it's staying local.

Just trust me...

Boise Weekly did an interview with Orchestra Gold & it's a must read. At the least, they should be on your radar. I recently discovered Orchestra Gold while making my Treefort schedule and was super intrigued. Really looking forward to seeing them live. Watch/listen for yourself. They are playing Friday 9/24 10:40pm at The Basque Center.

That's all I got for ya today. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thanks for reading!

With love from Boise,
